Dr. Semjon Wugalter (Karlsruhe Institut für Technologie) war zu Gast im IADM und sprach am Dienstag, den 07. Februar 2023 im Institutskolloquium zum Thema "The Efimov Effect in Systems with Mixed Dimensions".
Abstract:
In a recent review by two physicists P.Naidon and S.Endo the authors described 14 cases of bosonic three-particle systems with particles leaving in different dimensions, for example, two particles moving on a plane and the third one can move along a line orthogonal to this plane, where they expected the Efimov effect to exist. In our work with A.Bitter, D.Hundertmark and M.Schulz we analyse these systems. Surprisingly it turns out that in two of these cases the prediction by physicists was wrong.
