6th Workshop of the GAMM Activity Group on
"Analysis of Partial Differential Equations"

Universität Stuttgart, September 19 - September 21, 2018

Local Organizers: Björn de Rijk, Wolf-Patrick Düll, Guido Schneider

From September 19 to September 21 the 6th Workshop of the GAMM Activity Group on "Analysis of Partial Differential Equations" took place at the University of Stuttgart. The goal of the activity group is to strengthen the cooperation between mathematicians working in the area of analysis of PDEs within Germany and neighboring countries. The kick-off meeting was organized by Helmut Abels and Harald Garcke in October 2013 at the University of Regensburg. This year's workshop consisted of 7 plenary lectures, a number of contributed talks and a poster session. The workshop attracted 44 participants.

This workshops is co-orginized by the Excellence-Cluster "Simulation Technology" and the RTG 1838 "Spectral Theory and Dynamics of Quatum Systems".

The scope of this workshop is to bring together mathematicians, who are working on the analysis of partial differential equations within Germany and its neighboring countries, and to advance the activities of the GAMM activity group "Analysis of Partial Differential Equations".

This activity group was founded in March 2013 on the GAMM annual meeting in Novi Sad. The kick-off meeting was organized by Helmut Abels and Harald Garcke in October 2013 at the University of Regensburg. The goal of the activity group is to strenghten the cooperation of mathematicians working in the area of analysis of PDEs.

The program of the workshop contains 7 plenary lectures. Each plenary speaker is scheduled to speak for 45 minutes including discussion. Moreover, there will be contributed talks of 30 minutes each.

Confirmed principal speakers:

Helmut Abels (Regensburg)
Li Chen (Mannheim)
Christof Melcher (Aachen)
