Chair for Analysis and Mathematical Physics

Institute of Analysis, Dynamics and Modeling

at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Stuttgart

Besides spectral estimates of mathematical physics, our research focuses on various aspects of operator theory and the analysis of partial differential equations. Current research projects include:

Spectral estimates for (magnetic) Schrödinger operators
Bound states in quantum wave ladders
Operators on graphene
Local vibrations in elastic materials
Symmetria-based methods of operator theory
The chair has been chaired by Prof. TeknD Timo Weidl since April 2002.

Our group is involved in the Research Training Group 1838 "Spectral Theory and Dynamics of Quantum Systems". Since April 2017, the joint project "Stopping Discontinuation of Mathematics - SAM" has been a further collaboration with the University of Tübingen. She also supervises the  Pupils' Mathematics Club in the department and supports the implementation of the In-depth Course of Mathematics at secondary schools in the federal state of Baden-Würrtemberg.
